Ocimum basilicum
A striking herb that adds a pop of color to any garden or dish. Its deep purple leaves have a rich, spicy flavor that is similar to traditional sweet basil but with a slightly stronger taste. Basil is a frost-sensitive annual.
Growing Tips:Sow indoors 4-6 weeks before last spring frost. Transplant outdoors, or direct sow when outdoor temperatures are 50˚or above.
